Dr. James Elsner is the Earl and Sophia Shaw Professor and Chair of Geography at Florida State University where he teaches applied spatial statistics and climatology. His research interests include the changing nature of the hurricane and tornado risks. He has written more than 170 research articles and three books on these subjects.
