Bio

I have worked at the Florida Department of Environmental Protection for more than 30 years. Since 1997, I’ve been the Administrator of the Mining and Mitigation Program where I oversee the implementation of rules, laws, policies, and compliance of land alteration projects resulting from mining, reclamation, mitigation, and similar development activities that are subject to environmental regulation in the State of Florida. I’m a Professional Wetland Scientist (Society of Wetlands Scientists), a Certified Ecological Restoration Practitioner (Society for Ecological Restoration), and a Certified Wildlife Biologist (The Wildlife Society). I would like to research the Environmental and Political Implications of the concept of preservation, reclamation and connectivity while allowing the economic and efficient extraction of mineral resources.
